My Story Part 2
Hey Y'all
Lets rewind this beat!
As indicated in my introduction I informed you that I was diagnosed with Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
So let me tell you more about it, I would like to add that i am not a medical professional so i speak from my own personal experiences.
CAIS
Is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty. People with this condition are genetically male (one X and one Y chromosome) but do not respond to male hormones at all. As a result, they generally have normal female external genitalia and female breasts. However, they do not have a uterus or cervix so are unable to menstruate or conceive children.
So what this mean in a nutshell my body does not respond to androgen's 'hormones', so basically during development in my mummy's tummy :) I had a xy chromosome, because of this my body produced testosterone since my body did not respond to the hormones, it was pretty much confused :)
So because of the above I developed with typical female genitalia, the only sad part is that I never developed a uterus or cervix and therefore cannot have my own biological children :( this is something I will discuss in my next post...
That's all for now.... laters
